The practice of telemedicine remains an unresolved issue in veterinary medicine. AVMA leadership made a recommendation that telemedicine be among the topics covered by the new AVMA Practice Advisory Panel. Tennessee is one of five states that has provisions that specify that a veterinary-client-patient relationship cannot be established solely through telephonic or electronic means.
