What is a Dental Vetcation?
It’s an opportunity for you to get 10 Race Approved CE hours in veterinary dentistry AND have a vacation at a wonderful destination at the same time! We will lecture for 5 hours each morning and then you can go play for the rest of the day and night. We will host an open bar reception one night and each morning breakfast will be included in your registration.
Who are we?
We are 6 board-certified veterinary dentists through the American Veterinary Dental College scattered throughout the US who have a lot in common with you. We all became dentists and oral surgeons after lengthy careers as general practitioners and practice owners. None of us came from academia. We understand how difficult dentistry can be. We understand how tough it is juggling costs, fees, and scheduling. We understand all of this because we have been there and grinded through it as well. We enjoy what we do every day and love teaching.

FREE, live, RACE-approved webinar
Avian ganglioneuritis (AG), commonly referred to as PDD (proventricular dilatation disease), is characterized by lymphoplasmacytic ganglioneuritis, with inflammatory infiltrates occurring in both the central and peripheral nervous system. This can include the autonomic nervous system serving the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. The resultant neurologic dysfunction leads to smooth muscle atrophy, reduced peristalsis, dilatation, and retention of food in one or more segments of the GI tract (esophagus, ingluvies, proventriculus, ventriculus, or intestine) and subsequent maldigestion. There are myriad clinical manifestations of AG beyond the proventricular dilatation from which it takes its most common name. These manifestations depend on which nerves are most severely affected; patients may have neurologic signs, GI signs, cardiac dysfunction, or a combination of these. Learn More.

The annual AAZV conference is pleased to invite all new attendees! There are many great reasons to join us for this year’s event. The conference will bring together zoo and wildlife professionals to discuss and present the newest information.
The conference is usually held for seven days, typically from Saturday morning to Friday afternoon, but this can vary from year to year. Workshops and specialty courses are held on the first two days (typically Saturday and Sunday), with the main conference program starting the third morning (typically Monday) continuing until the seventh day (afternoon, typically Friday). It is a medium sized conference with between 400-800 registrants in the past few years; approximately 100-200 of whom are students.
