We would like to introduce the President-Elect, Danny Walker, DVM. Dr. Walker is an Associate Professor at UT Martin Veterinary Technology Program. He was in private practice for 32 years at Jackson Animal Clinic, Jackson.

Feline Medicine and Heartworm Disease in dogs
What is one professional goal you have for yourself in the next 5 years?
Maintain proficiency in companion animal medicine.
What are your hobbies outside of work?
Tennis, hiking, grandchildren
What is one personal goal you’ve set for yourself in the next year?
Finish my autobiography- a book on How Veterinary Medicine Changed My Life

Golf’s Sacred Journey by David Cook, This book is weaves together golf lessons and life lessons with a heavenly perspective. Fear is a common theme in our lives.
When you have time to watch TV, what’s your guilty pleasure?
Watch most sports especially football and tennis
Do you have an especially memorable/humorous client story you’d like to share?
We all have memorable stories- some funny and some sad. I had only been out of school a couple of months and a church friend brought their dog into the clinic. I was trying to do an extra special job and thorough physical exam and all seemed to go well. That evening I received a call for my friend and he wanted to know what the reading was on the dog’s thermometer. I proceeded to tell him I did not remember but I thought it was normal. He said it was 101 because he just read it. How embarrassing but I just told him I needed a 12-hour reading. That was great for the church bulletin!
